About The Picture Works

The Picture Works is all about images, in the broadest sense. Since we opened our doors in 1994 we have been creating, manipulating, printing, distributing and projecting images. It is our daily bread.

We hope the site will provide the opportunity for people to learn more about image creation, art and aesthetics.

The Picture Works and the Environment

Global Warming and the environmental consequences of economic activity are now a major political concern. Whilst there is no definitive theory that ties us as humans to being the cause there is significant consensus that we have a very active part to play with these changes. Research shows that 1 in every 4 particles of carbon in the atmosphere has been created by human activity.

We recognise that our activity does add to the accumulated impact and to take account of that and hopefully make a positive impression we have joined 1% for the Planet Alliance. Each year we will donate 1% of our turnover to Environmental Groups. For 2006/2007 we made our donation to Seed Savers who work in maintaining bio diversity in Ireland.

In our day to day activity we aim to implement environmental sensitive work practices. We have a stringent recycling policy and undertake a company audit every 6 months.
