Christmas & New Year

Six weeks when the whole country is out.

Be the drink they say out loud.

The season

It isn't a fortnight. It's a run.

From the first office party to the first weekend back, the on-trade has six weeks of nights that don't happen at any other point in the year. Your screens are live across all of it.

Late Nov
Parties beginWork nights out, early rounds, people ordering for a table.
Dec weekends
Twelve pubsGroups moving venue to venue, a new bar every hour.
23 Dec
The biggest nightEveryone home, everyone out. The most lucrative day of the year for Irish pubs.
24–26 Dec
Eve and Stephen'sTwo of the most reliable trading nights in the calendar.
31 Dec
New Year's EveThe third biggest spend night of the whole period.
Early Jan
It doesn't stopThe first week back trades ahead of the year before.

Why it matters

Trial is never cheaper to buy than in December.

It is the one stretch when people drink outside their usual repertoire — treating, trying, buying for a table rather than themselves. The category moves faster, and so does the decision.

≈40%Faster spirits rate of sale in the four weeks before Christmas, against the year's average.
3 in 4Visited a licensed venue over the festive period, up two points year on year.
34%Went out more often than their normal frequency — more nights, bigger groups.
+11.8%Sales in the first week of January, ahead of the same week the year before.

The bar.

The screen over the bar — the last thing they clock before they say it out loud.

Portrait screens in prime position in the best pubs and bars nationwide — Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, Kilkenny. Up to one million advertising plays across a 100-screen, two-week campaign, your advert playing once every minute. Change the message as the season moves: parties in December, a different line for New Year's Eve.

67%Walk into a bar undecided what they'll drink. Once they choose, they'll have 3.9 of it.
17% → 38%Conversion to trial more than doubled among people who saw the screen.
2–3×More people tried the brand than in venues without the screens.
+3–6%More drink sold in activated outlets against outlets running without.
“A proven growth driver, increasing sales and trial.”

Light Projections · 02

The street.

A building lit up so the whole street looks up.

Clean energy mobile light projections turn any wall or building into your canvas in minutes — no diesel generators here. The largest OOH format there is, and it moves: three or four locations in a night, a different message at each. On the nights the city is at its fullest, it is the thing people stop and photograph.

PML IMPACT research found OOH projections captured consumer attention at 85%.

The clock

The network sells out from the top down.

There are one hundred screens and six weeks. Sites are committed on a first-confirmed basis, and the full network is always the first thing to go. Sampling and Everything Connects need longer again — if either is in the plan, they are the first decision, not the last.

Confirm the weeks

Pick your nights and your cities. Sites are reserved the moment scale is agreed — and sampling, if you want it, is scoped here.

Send what you have

Existing brand assets are fine. We adapt them to portrait — no new shoot, no agency re-brief.

Live before the parties

Up and running for the first work nights out, and still there for New Year's Eve.

The screens are live every night of the season. Would you like your brand on them?

Common questions

Worth knowing before you book.

How late can I book Christmas pub advertising in Ireland?

Sites are held on a first-confirmed basis, so the honest answer is that the good weeks go early. Confirm scale and cities and we will reserve the run; creative can follow after.

Do I need new creative for the season?

No. Existing brand assets are fine — we adapt them to portrait 720 × 1920 for the screens, and to whatever surface the projection lands on. No new shoot, no agency re-brief.

Can the message change between December and New Year?

Yes. Creative is scheduled centrally and can change by day, by venue or by city — a party message through December, a different line for New Year's Eve, all inside the same booking.

Which cities are covered?

Screens sit in prime position in pubs and bars nationwide — Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick and Kilkenny. You get the venue list before anything goes live.

How many plays does a Christmas campaign deliver?

Up to one million advertising plays across a 100-screen, two-week campaign — your advert playing roughly once every minute, on every screen, on the busiest nights of the year.

Can we sample as well as advertise?

Yes. The screen carries the offer, the scan claims it, and the drink is in their hand in the same visit — a screen is not just a screen, and a sample is not just a sample. It needs a bit more lead time than a straight media booking, so raise it when you confirm the weeks rather than after. More on Sampling.

Where can a Christmas light projection go?

Onto almost any large wall or building. The rig is mobile and clean-energy, so it moves between locations across a night and sizes itself to the surface it finds.

What happens when the season ends?

This is what Everything Connects is for. Screens, sampling, promotions and reporting run as one system on one dashboard, so a scan in December is still a known customer in January and the year doesn't restart at zero. It is in beta with a small group of launch partners, and it needs setting up ahead of the run — so it is the first conversation, not the last. More on Everything Connects.
