Cycle 25 Campaigns

Carlsberg has demonstrated a more festive spirit in it's cycle 25 campaign creatives. Our Lightboxs lit up the campaign in venues across our i-Site Network in strategic locations near the entrances, near the bar or in outdoor sections.

December is a month where we traditionally see a huge uplift in activity throughout our network almost every single day of the week. Celebrations with friends, family and coworkers are bringing the less frequent pub goers out of their homes and to bars and pubs across Ireland. Capitalize on this busy time of year and have your brand seen by regular and occasional pub goers!

Cycle 24 Campaigns

There's a new thriller coming to theaters in Ireland on November 25th. Johnny Depp plays the role of James 'Whitey' Bulger, an Irish Mobster that works with the FBI to bring down the Italian Mafia. Their agreement let 'Whitey' get away with a lot of illegal business. Ultimately, this allowed him to grow to become one of the most feared and ruthless gangster Boston had ever seen.

Take a look at the trailer below;

Pubs are the perfect space to reach an audience that's in a good mood, interested and engaged to their surroundings. Pub goers love to be entertained, i-sites gives them something to talk about!

Welcoming The Forty Four, The Lombard and Lagoona to Our i-Site Network

We've added three new venues to our in pub network this week. Here's a bit about them, who they cater to and where they are situated.

The Forty Four

This venue is situated in the heart of Swords Village. It's been newly refurbished to a high standard and has 14 bedrooms directly above the venue for visitors and tourists to stay in should they please. The location is very convenient due to the Dublin airport being a 5 minute drive away.

Apart from a luxury accommodation, The Forty Four serves food from 9:00 to 21:00 seven days a week, plays popular sports matches for the public and has live music on certain evenings. Their lamb shank and pan fried sea bass look incredible! Visit this venue for its intimate setting, great music and wide range of appetizing meal options.

Click here to book accommodation or see their menus.

Lagoona

Lagoona bar and restaurant is situated at the heart of the IFSC financial services district. Food is served from 10am - all day on weekdays and from 12pm on weekends. Their menu has plenty of choice for all tastes with special gluten free and vegetarian options.

Their proximity to the convention centre, the O2 and Bord Gais Energy Theatre makes it the perfect venue for a quick bite and a drink before or after a show.

Major sporting events are shown at the venue and live music is played every Friday night.

Take a look at their menu or book an group event here.

The Lombard

A stones throw away from Trinity college and a short stroll from the Bord Gais Energy Theatre and the IFSC, this venue attracts students, locals and tourists.

They have accommodation on top of the venue for business and leisure travelers. The location of The Lombard lets them explore the city with ease and are a few feet away from Pearse Dart station.

Food is served all day from their vast menu. Their all day breakfast is a favourite amongst students and visitors!

Wether you are targeting a more professional crowd, students, families out for food or late night pub goers we have venues in our growing i-Site network to suit your needs. We'll work with you to make sure your brand is presented in the best possible light and in the middle of Ireland's social scene.

If you'd like to have your venue included in our network or your brand showcased in our i-Sites get in touch with us today.

AUDI LIGHTWALKER VIDEO

A short video of Audi LightWalkers during the Web Summit. We projected outside the Summit at the RDS as people were leaving for the evening and then took a route up to Harcourt Street to the Night Summit.

Cycle 23 Campaigns; Airbnb and Jameson Target Pub Goers

We have two very different and relevant campaigns in our i-Site network this cycle: Jameson and Airbnb.

Airbnb designed 7 location specific creatives to showcase throughout our i-Site network. The copy on each creative invites pub goers to earn money by sharing their Dublin, Ranelagh, Ringsend or Phibsboro home to the public in order to fund personal projects, hobbies and travel. The level of personalisation corresponding to the town the posters are displayed in adds a level of relevance to the audience.

Take a look at the 7 Airbnb creatives below:

Jameson encourages pub goers to choose Jameson as their drink of choice. We've placed their creatives near bars, at the entrance of venues and in outdoor sections. Order it on the rocks or with ginger and lime. If that doesn't suit, get some inspiration on how to order it here.

We still have some i-Sites available in the coming cycles as the holidays approach. This is an extremely busy time of year in our network. Don't miss out on a great opportunity to get your brand in front of the 18-39 year old audience over the holidays! Contact us for more information.

Audi Shines Bright at The Web Summit!

Audi caused quite the stir outside of The Web Summit and the Night Summit last night with a strategically placed light projection. As the 40,000 attendees were pouring out of the main doors in the evening we showcased Audi's Pitch competition in a location that demanded the attendee's attention.

The attendees moved towards the Night Summit on Harcourt Street to have a few pints and network. We created a presence for Audi on several locations along the strip to remind them about Audi's PITCH competition and educate them on the process. If you're lucky enough to be one of the 2 winners you will be able to test the new driveless RS7 vehicles on a track just outside of Barcelona at full racing speed! After that incredible experience you'll be treated to a dinner hosted by Boris Meiners, the head of brand development and service design at Audi.

Discussions were generated amongst groups of people passing by the projections, many stopped to take pictures with their mobiles and social conversation were started on Facebook and Twitter. We were happy to create a buzz around this fantastic Start-Up competition and use this simple guerrilla advertising to elevate Audi's presence at The Web Summit.

Planning 101 for Light Projections

As winter quickly approaches the evenings are getting darker earlier and earlier. While majority of us are dreading this, there are ways for brands to make the most of the darkness-- Light Projections!

We've detailed a few things below to get your started on your light projection planning. It's important that you take into consideration location, size and format. Ultimately these will be based on your audience and goals for the campaign. The darkness sets the perfect lighting for the mobile light projections, all you have to do is decide on the rest!

Location, Location, Location

Below are some examples of what to look for in terms of placement for projections. The best locations for light projections take into consideration;

1. Foot traffic

2. Public transport surrounding the wall

3. Time of day

4. Events happening in the area

5. Daily schedule of your target audience

6. Point of interest for your target audience

Here are some examples we've found around the city. Keep in mind some sites may require permissions and helps to be planned well ahead of time.

Size and Format

Projections can be done on larger scales to fit enormous walls or buildings but can also be achieved on a smaller scales for extra mobility. The artwork can be a static image, a video with or without sound or a real time technology feed (think social media or mobile app).

You're ultimate goal, the product and who you are targeting should be taken into consideration when selecting the above.

Static vs Mobility

The mobility of the projectors used provides the opportunity to follow foot traffic, cover various areas of the city throughout an evening and be responsive to your audience's schedule. For example your brand might want to target the after work rush for a period of time and then move to a second location in order to target 18-39 year olds heading out for dinner and drinks.

The static projections work well when you're looking to make a statement or targeting an event. Sports matches, large shows and cultural events are great targets for static projections.

We've detailed the basics of projections above, if you'd like to know more or dive deeper into light projections we'd be happy to help!

Spectre Projections Light Up Boland Mills

We lit up the Bolland Mills on Friday night to promote the release of Spectre, the much anticipated Bond Movie. With the Bolland Mills now slated for imminent development this could be the last time we use this iconic Dublin wall.

Daniel Craig demanded attention while lighting up the surrounding area. Commuters and passerby's couldn't help but do a double take! Spectre is out in theaters on the 26th of October.

Joe.ie and Her.ie both have written great articles about the projection. It got the word out and fueled a discussion on social media. Read the articles here and here

A Simple Guide to Biometrics and OOH

Agencies, brands and marketing managers are all working together to deliver the right message, to the right person, at the right time. Biometrics can change the game for everyone making it easier to quickly assess who is viewing your media so Biometrics works as an audience measurement tool in the physical world and can be harnessed as a trigger to deliver a targeted relevant message.

What are Biometrics?

Biometrics technology measures and analyses human body characteristics.

What does it measure?

  • Length of eye contact
  • Dwell time
  • Real time emotional recognition
  • Age
  • Gender
  • Distance from media
  • Direction they are walking
  • Facial attributes (beard, glasses, etc..)

Cool! But how does this fit in with OOH and Digital Media?

Simple. Biometrics allow agencies and brands to collect data on the audience in real time and deliver relevant content as a response. By setting predetermined parameters you can distribute the right message, to the right person at the right time.

Wait. What parameters?

Parametres are a predetermined set of rules and guidelines that will serve as criteria controls for distributing content to audiences.

Give me an Example...

A woman stops in front of the digital screen. She is seen smiling and laughing. The biometrics software will read her disposition and she will be played a particular video loop. Alternatively, a young man with a beard and glasses is seen approaching the digital screen he will be played something completely different based on the parameters previously set.

Wait! There's more!

This can also work in terms of movement. For example, somebody who is moving from left to right in the store will see message relating to the area to where he or she is going.

What does this mean for the future of Advertising?

According to Ann Wixley in an article called What does the future hold for outdoor advertisement "The ideas that win are the ones where media, creative execution and innovation are all working together". By integrating responsive technologies to static advertising networks we can transform the way media is consumed and offer a more relevant, targeted experience for consumers.

Biometrics is one of the technologies that brings actionable analytics into a whole other playing field. This technology allows the creative media to be altered in real time based on the viewers interacting with the media.

Send the right message, at the right time to the right person.

Cycle 22 Campaigns: Alcohol, Cigarettes and Cinemas, Oh My!

Cycle 22 in our i-Site Network is packed with some diverse brands. We're showcasing several alcohol brands, a new e cigarette and a creative for a new cinema opening in Charlestown.

E-Lites Curv is a new electronic cigarette being sold in Ireland. The new shape fits more naturally in your mouth, it has a lightweight design and a soft touch. They have also introduced a one click charging that charges your electric cigarette quickly without the need to dismantle it.

While we placed these creatives throughout our network, we have sites in smoking areas that target regular smokers and social smokers. Alcohol and cigarettes have always gone hand in hand making our i-site network a perfect place to react their target audience.

Guinness has released two beautiful new creatives for the Cork Jazz Festival. These creatives were placed around Cork ahead of the festival to generate a buzz.

Zaconey infuses the American Spirit into our i-Site Network influencing pub goers to try a Zaconey and Cola. Placing these drink posters near the bar and entrances captures the attention of the 67% of pub goers who have yet to choose what they will drink when they walk in.

With 42% of pub goers going to the cinema every month versus only 10% of the general population, i-Sites is the perfect network to announce new films coming out, or a new cinema being built. Odeon has a new cinema opening in Charlestown. Click here to discover which films are being shown and to get directions to the new establishment.

The Orchard

Just a stones throw away from DIT Grangegorman campus is one of our newest venues in the i-Site Network. Formally known as The Grange Inn, they have recently rebranded to The Orchard. A few years ago the venue would of catered to a very local clientele but the opening of DIT's new campus has had what some call 'The DIT Effect' on the area. Being the closest watering hole to the DIT campus, they have received a new infusion of energy and a completely new clientele walking through the door-- STUDENTS!

With 2000 new students studying at this campus the area has evolved and changed in consequence to now cater to this influx of life. We're happy to be a part of the action!

Baker's Corner

Up the road from IADT Dun Laoghaire is The Baker's Corner. They've recently come on board to our i-Site Network. As a gastro-pub they have a selection of bar food, a carvery and an a la carte menu in the evenings. They serve 7 days a week till late! Check out their menu here.

With student night's on every thursday, live music and pub quizzes during the week there's always something happening!

A Snippet of Cycle 21 With 48, Powers and Smithwick's!

We've got 3 great wonderful companies in our i-Site media network this cycle; Powers, 48 and Smithwicks.

48 is Ireland's youth mobile network. They are introducing two new mobile phone plans to help you 'Cheat at Life'. The highlight of their plans? Unlimited messaging with WhatsappClick here to check out what's on offer in more detail.

They used i-Sites to target the younger crowds in venues such as The Palace, Karma Stone, D2, Coppers and The Pav. We reached them when they were relaxed, open to messages and having great discussions with their friends.

Powers Whiskey chose a range of our venues to display their product to pub goers at a point in time where pub goers will be making their purchasing decisions. Our research found that 67% of people walking into a bar are undecided on what they would like to drink. Power's used our in pub media to reminded pub goers that they are a great option!

Smithwick's knows how effective i-Sites can be for influencing that first drink and decided to retain their presence in the network for a 2nd cycle. Their Pale Ale might be new but there is 300 years of experience behind it!

Our cycles are filling up quickly leading up to the holidays.  Contact us for more information on our sites, venues and cycle availability.

We're almost at max capacity this cycle with several incredible creatives from 7UP, Guinness, Smithwicks and Jameson.

7UP Free has brought back a vintage series of 7UP cans from the 70s, 80s and 90s. Do you remember any of these vintage cans? Get them now for a limited time!

You may have seen a few of the new Guinness Rugby commercials on TV based on Gareth Thomas and Ashwin Willemse. We have two incredible creatives are part of their 'Made of More' campaign. The designs creatively incorporate the pint of Guinness through the rugby player's mouth and sock. Can you spot them?

Here is a link to the commercials if you haven't seen them yet.

Smithwicks launched a campaign for their Pale Ale- the newest edition to their portfolio. I-Sites are a great way to introduce new products at point of sale. We place our light boxes close to the bar, at the entrances and in high traffic locations to educate and remind pub goers of their options.
